Golf & residential community alongside Mirror Lake.

Surrounding the Jian Lake Golf Clubhouse is an 18 hole golf course and multi-stage residential community. Working closely with both the Golf Course Architect and owner on the golf course planting as well as directly with the developer's staff on the residential areas, James Nicolay helped create an award winning project.

The project's entry is purposely understated, entering through a bamboo tunnel which frames views of the first fairway & clubhouse beyond. One of the primary landscape objectives was to screen the course from its nearby public roads with dense screens of evergreen trees.

Three separate residential phases, primarily of large villas, were constructed.  Landscape designs for streetscapes and Sales Model Villas were prepared.

The golf course owner was personally involved in the planting design of the golf course, desiring a colorful, ornamental approach to planting with numerous small flowering trees, extensive shrub areas colorful features.
