Golf Clubhouse in a Mountainside Setting.

At an elevation of 2400 meters above sea level, the Jiuzhaigou Wonderland Golf Clubhouse celebrates the unique cultures and botanical history of southwest China.

Design inspiration comes from the botanical explorations of E. H. 'China' Wilson and the plants he collected in the mountains of Sichuan in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as well as the artistry and culture of the Qiang minority people who have lived in these mountains for more than a thousand years. Colorful Qiang embroidery patterns, stone tower architecture and traditions provide design inspiration for hardscape elements while a collection of indigenous Rhododendrons form the backbone of the clubhouse's garden areas. Extensive use of existing conifers relocated from golf and construction areas maintain the site's natural character, especially on the slopes between the clubhouse and the golf course.

James Nicolay was the project's landscape architect. The golf club is scheduled to open in 2015.
