Total Redevelopment of an Existing Golf Course to expand its Real Estate Potential & Re-position it in the Marketplace

Golf Course & Clubhouse

Completely revising an existing 27 hole golf course and clubhouse to incorporate a new Gary Player layout, the Tianzhu Golf Club near Beijing's Airport is presently under construction.

An entirely new golf layout requires retaining and relocating numerous mature trees as well as creating a new landscape in a tighter footprint as land has been freed up for additional development.

A palette of willow, ash and sophora trees was selected to integrate the new plantings with existing areas and an understory palette of 'links-style' grasses - mostly Little Bluestem - with ornamental grasses is used.  In spring and summer, the soft green canopies of the trees line the fairways. As the deciduous trees lose their leaves in autumn, the orange and golds of the grasses come forward.

The existing clubhouse and its environs is also completely renovated, with the existing structure expanded to include a cart barn and viewing terrace. The existing entry drive and parking area is reorganized to create a more attractive presence as well as providing access to future development areas. A municipal water treatment canal, which runs past the clubhouse and through the golf course, is planted with emergent reeds, grasses & cattails to bioremediate the water quality as well as create a landscape amenity and golf hazard.

The project is currently under construction.
